Pointing is not a detail; they determine how a building moves. Where façade elements meet, stresses occur. Dynamic joint sealing absorbs this movement and prevents cracks and infiltration.
When renovating, we first remove the existing sealant and mechanically clean the joint. We then install a foam backer rod as backing and apply a new sealant with sufficient volume for optimal elasticity. The result is a joint that moves with the building and continues to provide long-term protection.
Pointing determines both the appearance and the protection of a façade. The upper floors in particular have a hard time: wind, rain and salty air act like a constant sandblast, causing cement joints to wear down and lose their function. Repointing is therefore not an aesthetic choice, but essential maintenance.
We grind out the existing joints, thoroughly remove dust from the façade and moisten the substrate to ensure optimal adhesion. We choose the right colour and finish in consultation with you. The result is a façade that looks neat again and is resistant to the elements.
